SPOTTED: Lamborghini Temerario?

A Decade of Huracan: The Curtain Closes

The Lamborghini Huracan enjoyed a glorious 10-year run, with the final Huracan STJ version unveiled in April. As we bid farewell to this iconic model, excitement brews for the next-generation junior supercar from Lamborghini, which we believe will be named the Lamborghini Temerario. Fresh spy shots reveal that this new beast isn’t too far from making its grand debut.

Lighting Up the Future

Previous spy photos teased us with test cars sporting covered lights, including a playful Gallardo-esque headlight sticker. Now, we get a clearer view. The front lights are ultra-slim, positioned similarly to the Huracan’s, featuring two circular projectors per headlight. At the rear, the camouflage is gone, revealing a wide hexagonal light design with LEDs inside, though this might change in the production model.

Cooling and Camouflage

Up front, a radiator sits boldly in the middle of the bumper, flanked by additional cooling vents and what appears to be large fog lights. The Temerario’s radar systems are on display, although, like the Revuelto, one might be a decoy to maintain symmetry.

Double-Bubble Delight

A double-bubble roof design graces the top, while the side profile reveals a longer front overhang compared to a shorter, more compact rear. Massive air intakes behind the doors, on the rear haunch, and behind the rear three-quarter window ensure the engine stays cool and the design looks aggressive.

Wide Stance, Powerful Presence

The Temerario’s wide stance is accentuated by the significant amount of rear tire visible, a design trait shared with the Revuelto. A giant rear diffuser and high-mounted single-exit exhaust add to its imposing presence. While not visible in these shots, expect an active rear spoiler for added aerodynamic prowess.

Hybrid Powerhouse

Under the hood, we anticipate a plug-in hybrid system paired with a twin-turbocharged V8, potentially the same engine planned for the Urus PHEV we talked about in a previous SPOTTED article. Lamborghini’s Chief Technical Officer Rouven Mohr hinted at an engine with “more than six and less than 12 cylinders,” emphasizing performance over range. Expect this hybrid system to deliver a thrilling driving experience, much like the flagship Lamborghini Revuelto.

Big Shoes to Fill

Following in the footsteps of the Huracan, Lamborghini’s best-seller until the Urus SUV, the Temerario has big shoes to fill. Despite losing the V10 engine, we expect the new model to outshine the Huracan’s most powerful 631bhp Performante version.

Trademark Tease

Lamborghini has filed a trademark application with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) for the name “Temerario” and a badge featuring their signature font with bullhorns. While the company hasn’t officially confirmed the name for the Huracan’s successor, the timing suggests it’s a strong possibility.

Fearless and Bold

In line with Lamborghini’s tradition, the name Temerario likely draws from a Spanish fighting bull, symbolizing fearlessness and boldness. With meanings that also translate to daredevil and reckless, the new model promises to embody the spirited personality of its predecessors.
