Maserati MCXtrema’s debut

Maserati is yet again making the headlines, and this time back with a brand new track weapon, and it goes by the name “MCXtrema”. This hardcore supercar is all set to take the stage and prove that Maserati is more than just the sporty luxury SUVs it’s been making headlines for for the past couple of months. With a powerful engine, track-tuned chassis, and a no-holds-barred attitude, the MCXtrema is ready to show off its motorsport heritage. Buckle up as we dive into the details of this thrilling new machine, set to make its debut during Monterey Car Week 2023. Let’s get revved up for an exhilarating ride!

Set to debut on August 18 (during Monterey Car Week 2023), the MCXtrema promises to be a radical machine. Maserati is making it a track-only car, which means it doesn’t have to worry about all those pesky regulations that can water down a concept car’s awesomeness. And forget racing regulations too, this beast is for private test sessions only.

The MCXtrema will pack a punch with its tuned twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine, churning out an impressive 730 hp! That power will be sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox and a “mechanical limited-slip” differential. And with a lightweight chassis, weighing just under 1,250 kg, this baby is ready to roar on the track.

In terms of exterior design. Especially when you look at the top view, the MCXtrema looks very much like a true Maserati as it is fully inspired from the trident logo, take just one look from above & you will see: One clear trident on the bonnet, the air intake looks, again, like a trident facing towards the front with the central line connecting it to the spoiler & (again) trident shaped engine compartment cover. I for one absolutely love this design. What do you think about it? Leave a comment share your thoughts!

Inside, it’s all about motorsport vibes with a roll cage, carbon steering wheel with a cool display, and a six-point harness for that racecar feel. Oh, and you can even add a passenger seat and extra telemetry screens if you want to share the fun.
On and get this, Maserati has promised to only ever build 62 of these bad boys, and – in pretty much like insider trading fashion – they have already all been pre-sold, yep…. Whoosh! Gone in a flash! But here’s the real question remains, will they be used on the track as they were meant to be? or will they end up in a millionaire collector’s garage? Only time will tell.

So mark your calendars for August 18 and stay tuned on Masparts blog as we will sure be reporting on the long awaited MCXtrema’s debut on the track. Let’s see if it lives up to its name and brings back the raw power of Maserati’s racing legacy!
